Happy New Year

It seems that the website design is about to finish. I say, finally! I have selected over 40 merchants, but still have not done anything about the big stores; Macy's, Best Buy, Home Depot etc. They will consider my site when it is finally online.I do not blame them because one never knows whats coming out on the internet.
Promotion of the site will be the biggest challenge, I guess for everyone with a website. It is no use building it if they don't come. Some old fashioned promotions are in order; that old bumper sticker and the pens are on order. Keeping it up on social networks poses a more difficult task.

Website, Cooking and everything else

Felt like cooking this weekend and made this up really quick. Too bad son was not here to enjoy it.

Spent a lot of this weekend selecting advertisers for the website. Once you sign up with an affiliate network, in this case Commission Junction, one has to be really disciplined not to add just about every store out there. I am trying to keep within a reasonable number of stores so this one employee, me, can run this site and keep the specials updated.

Getting Close

Just signed up with an affiliate network and i am in the process of selecting advertisers(stores) to promote in my site. Best advice is not to get carried away and line up everything in the world, and just get the stuff I am familiar with or interesting sites with a good product to sell.
One experience while selecting advertisers is that they refuse your site without giving you a reason or any other information. Maybe when things are running smoothly I will get back to them.
Couple of things not being promoted on my site has to do with "get rich quick schemes" or gambling sites.
Hopefully soon it will be up and running.

Empty Again

Son Steven back to school after Turkey break, so the house is back to the same grind. Sometimes I rant about politics while my wife plays her word games on the computer. Just now and then she might acknowledge my musings on the world situation by either agreeing to all because she does not want to hear anything anymore,lol, or by telling me to shut up so she can concentrate. What a love!!!
One other thing, since i have no comments i might spend the next few years writing to myself. I do not mind. There could be a problem if I comment on my own posts.

Anxious for new website

Designer sent me information of website layout. I think it is looking great.It has taken a lot of planning and what a hard decision is to pick something mundane as colors. I think I have read and looked at every color diagram out there and read the psychology of colors, whats hot and whats not. Some of details being worked on right now is categories to list on site, writing Privacy Policy and adding a dozen scripts to the page. It has to be right the first time. There is no second chances at the online game. Get it right or fold the tent.

Back to the Nest, briefly

Our son, Steven, is visiting this week for Thanksgiving Holidays and we are so happy. Now I know what my parents went through when I came to America at 18 and did not go back for 3 years. I can only imagine if i had to endure staying away from Steven for 3 years. Of course if that is what it takes then we have no recourse. What can one do? Eventually the birds will fly away.

He is a sophomore at Virginia Tech and could not be happier. It is a wonderful school in a beautiful setting and we recommend to anyone that may be considering college at this time.
He is studying Mechanical Engineering and the Hokies are putting them through the paces, but one would not expect any less from such a good school.

Oh and I almost forgot, there is plenty of laundry to be done. More work is needed in that front...and the cooking too.

He came in from the cold

This cat literally showed up at our backyard on February 1998. It is my son's birthday also. Why do you think I remember that little trivia?
I am surprised that it took me a few days to post a picture of the cat. The name is carpet and it was given to him by my son over 11 years ago. According to my son they agreed back them on the name, so who am I to dispute that?
All my attempts to bring a small dog into the house has met with a big NO from the wife. As for the cat he just dares me to do it.

Can't wait to get nakedbuyer.com up and running. Website designer should have something soon. I decided to have it done professionally than taking chances on a home brew product. For my intentions with this business is better to be prepared and have it done right.

Is that a weird name or what?

This blog was created as part of a shopping portal, nakedbuyer.com. Even though it will be associated with a shopping site, I will post a few lines about things that interest me; car racing, fishing, environment, electronics etc.
I am not interested in using this blog to just post coupons and special offers to visitors. It would be a lot more pleasant that you visit my site to buy something and at the same time discuss the health benefits of bass fishing with me; or formula 1 car racing at SPA.
